WOMEN'S MONTH CELEBRATION
In the month of March 2021, we celebrating the 2021 National Women's Month with the Hashtag #WomenMakeChange . "Juana Laban sa Pandemiya:Kaya!" is the title for this month celebration.
"It serves as a tribute, a platform, and a call to action that highlights the extraordinary roles of ordinary Juanas in the society as trailblazers and harbingers of change. This celebration is also a venue to discuss and address the issues that women continue to face so empowerment can be fully achieved. The campaign is also a call for concrete, sustainable, and inclusive actions towards gender equality. " - Philippine Commission on Women, 2021. Heroesville Elementary School teachers, our school principal - Ma'am Gina B. Yonque and our two LGU's in Barangay Gaya-Gaya named Kagawad Dave Ortiz and Kagawad Elma Ballesteros are celebrating together in our school covered court dated March 11, 2021. EARTH'S DAY CELEBRATION
Earth Day is celebrated on April 22 every year. The day marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970. The day inspires us to act towards the protection of the environment and focus on the need for conservation.
This year is the 51st annual celebration of Earth Day, an occasion adjuring every one of us to take heed and take an action on making our home planet restored and capable in supporting life.
Under DM_s2021_018 or otherwise known as “Celebration of Earth Day 2021”, with the approval and support of the School Head, Gina B. Yonque, the SDRRM coordinator (Maria Victoria V. Lloret) together with her Alternate Focal Person (Carledberg Bacungan) organized and facilitated the 3-Day school-based Online Earth Day Celebration with the theme “PINASiglang Mundo” in Heroesville Elementary School.
April 20,2021 - Day 1 of the program, the school head , Ma’am Gina B. Yonque , joyfully gave her opening message of support . Three teachers in the primary level namely, Rhen Krizhia Ampa of Kindergarten, Jonalyn T. Lagunsad of Grade 1 and Carmie Robea of Grade 2 were the storytellers of the day . All stories depict about taking care of the environment. The Grade 3 teachers, Bobby Granada, Jennifer Repollo and Lourna Cortez lead the unfreezing dance as well. The selected 100 learners were able to enjoy and interact actively in the said program.
April 21,2021 - Day 2 of the celebration, only the Grade 4, 5 and 6 teachers and 70 selected learners were the participants in the school’s virtual program activity. Activities for this day involved a brief introduction about the ”Presence of Plastic in our modern world” discussed by Carledberg Bacungan (SDRRM Alternate focal person), a preview on creativity in recycling used plastic bottles “Plastic bottles: Garden ideas” presented by Maria Victoria V. Lloret (SDRRM Coordinator) then followed by School Waste Management Orientation by Jonalyn T. Lagunsad (Solid Waste Coordinator).
In collaboration with SDRRM activities in Earth Day , the YES-O coordinator , Joan T. Pamplona conducted an orientation about the function of the YES-O club, duties and responsibilities of the members. Newly elected officers of YES-O club were recognized right after the organization’s elections. The second part of the activity was a panel discussion on Decreasing Single-use of plastic in Heroesville Elementary School. This was facilitated by Mrs. Pamplona. The exchange of views from teachers and learners were evident and engaging. The online program was closed by a message from Caroline Jo Lacson (Guidance Teacher).
April 22,2021 - Day 3, all teachers and learners watched in DEPED FB live PINASiglang Mundo presentations. After the program, each advisers from preschool to grade six conducted online classes carrying out lessons about Climate Change, Managing wastes, Growing plants and Protecting Mother Earth. The 3 Day School-based Earth Day activity of Heroesville Elementary School was a total knockout!
